TailSpin Terms of Service
Last updated: September 11, 2026
These terms are a contract between you and TailSpin Interactive, LLC. Please read them. They are written to be read, not to be skipped.
1. Who we are
TailSpin is made by TailSpin Interactive, LLC, a Texas limited liability company.
TailSpin Interactive, LLC
3115 Lillian Miller Pkwy, Ste 103-219
Denton, TX 76210
United States
You can reach us at support@tailspin.gg.
In these terms, "we," "us" and "our" mean TailSpin Interactive, LLC. "You" means you. "TailSpin" and "the Service" mean the TailSpin mobile app, the tailspin.gg website, and everything we provide through them.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using TailSpin, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use TailSpin.
If you are using TailSpin on behalf of someone else, you are telling us you have the authority to accept these terms for them.
3. Who can use TailSpin
You must be at least 13 years old to have a TailSpin account. If you are under 13, you may not use TailSpin, and we will not knowingly keep an account for you.
If you are between 13 and 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian to use TailSpin, and by using it you are telling us you have that permission.
We ask for your date of birth when you create an account. Give us the real one. We use it to check that you are old enough and to comply with advertising rules that apply to younger players.
One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else, and do not share yours.
4. Your account
You are responsible for what happens on your account, including keeping your sign-in details private. Tell us at support@tailspin.gg if you think someone else is using it.
Usernames and display names. Your username is public. Pick one that does not impersonate someone, does not infringe anyone's rights, and is not obscene, hateful or harassing. We may reclaim, change or remove a username that breaks this rule, that impersonates a person or organisation, or that we need for operational reasons.
5. What TailSpin is, and how it changes
TailSpin is a word game. You chain words together so that each word begins with the last two letters of the one before it. It has several modes, including a daily puzzle, an endless mode, a head-to-head mode, and an archive of past puzzles.
We build TailSpin continuously. We may add, change, suspend or remove any part of it, including game modes, puzzles, scoring, prices, achievements and the way tokens work. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce something you have paid for.
We do not promise that TailSpin will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors.
6. Tokens
TailSpin uses tokens, an in-game currency you spend on power-ups (hints and undos), on rescues in Endless (Word Warp, Flip and Bridge), and on permanent access to a past Daily puzzle from the archive.
Tokens are not money. They have no cash value, they are not a balance held for you, and they are not your property. You are buying a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use them inside TailSpin.
- You can earn tokens by playing, and you can buy them.
- You cannot sell, transfer, trade or exchange tokens, in or out of the game.
- Tokens cannot be redeemed for money or anything else of value.
- There are limits on earning. Tokens earned from gameplay are subject to a daily earning limit and to a cap on how many your wallet holds. Tokens you buy, the tokens included with TailSpin Pro, and achievement rewards are subject to neither. The current limits are shown in the app.
- Token purchases are final. We do not refund them. Any refund is at the discretion of Apple or Google under their own policies.
- Tokens are forfeited when your account is deleted, whether you delete it or we do.
- We may change what tokens cost, what they buy, and how many you earn.
Unspent tokens do not expire while your account is open and in good standing, subject to the wallet cap above.
7. TailSpin Pro
TailSpin Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription. It includes:
- No ads.
- A monthly allowance of tokens, paid when you subscribe and again on each monthly anniversary.
- A higher wallet cap, so you can hold more tokens than a free account.
- The full archive of past Daily puzzles, with no per-puzzle charge.
- A Pro badge on your profile.
The exact token amounts are shown on the subscription screen in the app, because we tune them over time. Pro does not affect gameplay, scoring, ranks or head-to-head matchmaking — it is not a competitive advantage.
- Monthly: $4.99 per month.
- Yearly: $39.99 per year.
- Prices are in US dollars, or the equivalent in your local currency as shown in the app at the time of purchase. Taxes may be added.
Free trial. Every Pro subscription starts with a 7-day free trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged. If you do not cancel, the subscription begins and you are charged at the end of the trial.
Auto-renewal. Pro renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
Cancelling. You cancel through the store you bought from, not through us — Settings on your Apple device, or the Play Store subscriptions screen on Android. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Billing and refunds are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details, we cannot charge you directly, and we cannot issue a refund. Refund requests go to the store you purchased through.
Price changes. If we change the price, the store will tell you, and the new price will not apply to you until you agree to it or until the store's own notice period has run.
If your Pro subscription lapses, you keep your account and your history, but Pro features stop.
8. Token packages
You can buy tokens in four packages. The number of tokens in each package, and the price in your local currency, are shown in the app at the time of purchase. We tune the amounts over time, so the app is the accurate source and this page deliberately does not repeat them.
As with Pro, the purchase happens through Apple or Google, and refunds are theirs to give.
9. Ads
TailSpin shows ads to players who are not subscribed to Pro. Some are shown to you; some you choose to watch in exchange for tokens.
You are never required to tap an ad, and tapping one never earns you anything. Rewards are for watching, not clicking.
Pro removes ads.
How ads use your information is covered in our Privacy Policy.
10. Playing fairly
TailSpin is a game of skill, and part of what makes it worth playing is that everyone is playing the same game. So:
Do not
- use bots, scripts, automation, solvers, or modified clients;
- tamper with the app, the network traffic between the app and our servers, or your device's clock to gain an advantage;
- create multiple accounts to farm rewards, manipulate leaderboards, or influence head-to-head results;
- collude with another player to fix the outcome of a match;
- probe, scrape, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our dictionary, puzzle data, or generation logic;
- interfere with the Service or with anyone else's use of it;
- harass, abuse, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- use TailSpin for anything illegal.
The game is server-authoritative. Your device shows you the game; our servers decide what actually happened. Attempts to make your device disagree with our servers are a breach of these terms.
11. Things you submit
You can submit a small amount of content: a username, a display name, word suggestions for the dictionary, and reports about other players.
You keep whatever rights you have in what you submit. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of running and improving TailSpin. For usernames and display names, that includes showing them to other players, which is the point of them.
Do not submit anything you do not have the right to submit.
If you suggest a word for the dictionary, we may add it, ignore it, or do neither, and you get no credit, payment or claim over the dictionary as a result.
12. Reports, suspension and termination
You can report another player from inside the app. We review reports and act at our discretion.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if keeping your account open would put other players or the Service at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
If we terminate your account for breaking these terms, tokens and any unused subscription time are forfeited and we are not obliged to refund you.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. See section 15.
13. Our intellectual property
TailSpin, the TailSpin name, the TailSpin wordmark and logo, the app, the website, the puzzles, the scoring system, the artwork and the software are ours or our licensors'. These terms do not give you any rights in them beyond the licence in section 14.
You may share your results — that is what the share feature is for. You may not copy, redistribute or build a competing product from our puzzles, dictionary or code.
14. Your licence to use TailSpin
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use TailSpin on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and with the rules of the store you downloaded it from.
You may not sublicence, rent, lease, sell or distribute TailSpin, and you may not reverse-engineer it except to the extent the law says you may despite this sentence.
15. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings inside the app.
When you do, your account enters a 30-day grace period, during which it is deactivated but recoverable. After 30 days it is permanently deleted, along with the data attached to it. Tokens are forfeited. An active subscription is not cancelled by deleting your account — cancel it through Apple or Google separately, or you will keep being charged.
What we keep and for how long is set out in our Privacy Policy.
16. Third-party content
TailSpin's word definitions come from third-party dictionary sources under open licences, including Wiktionary, Princeton WordNet and Open English WordNet. Those sources carry their own licence terms and attribution requirements, which we honour. See our Attributions page.
Definitions are provided for interest. They are not authoritative, they sometimes give a sense of a word that is not the one you meant, and we do not warrant their accuracy.
17. Disclaimers
TailSpin is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that TailSpin will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that defects will be corrected; that puzzles will always be solvable, that scores will always be correct, or that the dictionary will contain any particular word.
Some places do not allow these exclusions. If you live somewhere that does not, this section applies to you only as far as that law allows.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill, arising out of or relating to TailSpin.
- Our total liability to you for all claims relating to TailSpin is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us through TailSpin in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) $50 USD.
This applies regardless of the legal theory, and regardless of whether we were told the damage was possible.
Again: some places do not allow these limits, and where that is true, this section applies only as far as the law allows.
19. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TailSpin Interactive, LLC and its members, officers and contractors from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of TailSpin, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone else's rights.
20. Governing law and where disputes are heard
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or to TailSpin will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denton County, Texas, and you and we each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
There is no arbitration clause in these terms and no class-action waiver. That is deliberate. If you have a problem, the first thing to do is email support@tailspin.gg — most things are fixable that way.
If you live somewhere whose consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, this section does not take that right away from you.
21. Apple and Google
This section applies where it has to.
If you downloaded TailSpin from the Apple App Store:
- These terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for TailSpin or its content.
- Your licence to use TailSpin is limited to use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, under the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for TailSpin. If you need help, email support@tailspin.gg.
- If TailSpin fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to TailSpin.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to TailSpin, including product liability claims, claims that TailSpin fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims under consumer protection or similar law.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating, defending, settling or discharging any third-party claim that TailSpin infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded TailSpin from Google Play, your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service, and Google is not a party to these terms.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect.
If you keep using TailSpin after a change takes effect, you are agreeing to the updated terms. If you do not agree, delete your account.
23. The rest
Severability. If a court decides part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
No waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about TailSpin.
